CIHEB Tanzania is currently seeking qualified candidates for two key positions under the USAID Usalama wa Afya Duniani project:
- One Health Program Officer
- Infection Prevention Control (IPC) Program Officer
Both positions will be based in Tanzania and report to their respective advisors. Below are the details of the roles and application instructions.
Position 1: One Health Program Officer
Reports to: One Health Advisor

Job Summary
The One Health Program Officer will work under the supervision of the One Health Specialist to support the implementation and integration of the One Health (OH) approach. The role will involve supporting activities aimed at strengthening the adoption of the OH approach to prevent, limit, and contain the spread of diseases. This includes working with national and subnational stakeholders, supporting the development of strategies, frameworks, and technical materials, as well as contributing to the monitoring and evaluation of the program.

Report Preparation | Support the development of technical briefs, reports, and other materials to facilitate research, best practices, and policies. |
Capacity Building | Assist in building the capacity of OH stakeholders and contribute to project evaluations and success stories. |
Qualifications and Requirements
Qualifications | Details |

Educational Requirements | Bachelor’s degree in health science or related field. Medical/nursing degree with specialization in public health is a plus. |
Experience | Minimum 3 years of experience in OH services or similar programs. Experience in global health security and emergency response is preferred. |
Skills | Strong knowledge of OH within Tanzania’s health system, excellent interpersonal, oral, and writing skills. |
Familiarity | Experience with Tanzania’s health systems and working with the Ministry of Health (MoH) is an advantage. |

Position 2: Infection Prevention Control Program Officer

Job Summary
The Infection Prevention Control Program Officer will support the implementation of the IPC program in Tanzania, focusing on minimizing infection risks and enhancing patient safety at health facility levels. The incumbent will work closely with the IPC Advisor and contribute technical expertise to ensure the successful implementation of IPC interventions at regional, district, and health facility levels. This role also involves disseminating best practices and lessons learned across the project.

Quality Improvement | Work with the CQI advisor to implement quality improvement strategies to enhance IPC practices at subnational levels. |
